makemebow[ He always has to tell V, when he's done well in one of his assignments.
(he struggles with some of them, and she knows that, and when he does well she's proud of him and it's-- he's glad)
(glad isn't quite enough, but the shape of the word is the most right and so it'll do)
And right now, he's especially excited as he wanders through the house looking for her. Because the printed-out grade sheet he's holding is for English and she knows that's his worst subject thanks to-- that, and so won't she be more proud than ever? ]

[ Not that there's many places to look in a small cottage, and wherever she is in there - or even if she's in the garden - she can probably hear Thomas as soon as he starts to call for her. ]
